The MedKey^TM is a USB device that contains a software program called MedBytes^TM that a patient can use to enter personal health history and contact information into a database stored on the MedKey. The database can store the patient's medical history along with additional family member's medical history. Each family member can be added as a new patient record on one MedKey. The MedBytes database can be stored on the patient's personal computer, transferred to a web site or transferred to a healthcare provider's patient receiving computer.


The patient uses the MedKey for access by emergency medical personnel to critical information such as contact info, medical allergies, blood type and other non-private medical data. If the patient is unconscious, important medical information can get accessed by the medical team.

The MedKey's encrypted data storage feature provides extra security of privacy information under the patient's control. In the event of a lost or stolen MedKey, private medical information is encrypted and cannot be accessed without a user name/password entry. Medical information can still be accessed online by your healthcare provider with the patient's permission. The MedBytes^TM application resides on the MedKey where medical information and online links are encrypted. The encrypted files can be stored on the patient's personal computer, the healthcare providers system as well as the MedBytes.com personal online medical records database.
