The MedKey^TM is a USB device that contains a software program called MedBytes^TM that a patient can use to enter personal health history and contact information into a database stored on the MedKey. The database can store the patient's medical history along with additional family member's medical history. Each family member can be added as a new patient record on one MedKey. The MedBytes database can be stored on the patient's personal computer, transferred to a web site or transferred to a healthcare provider's patient receiving computer. If the User/Patient is a parent, medical files of all children, spouse and aging parents can be stored on a MedKey device and database.

The patient can purchase the MedKey online from MedKey or from a MedKey participating healthcare provider such as a medical clinic or a health insurance vendor.

The MedBytes^TM software is pre-installed on the MedKey. The patient may choose to have the MedKey shipped without initial data installed or enter their information on the MedBytes web site to be loaded on the MedKey and then shipped to user. The patient has the choice to share/compare this information with local participating MedBase hospitals/clinics/doctors. The access of a user’s medical information is under complete control by the user with respect to all security and privacy laws under the HIPAA regulations. In other words, your Personal Health History Records are under your control and you give permission to health care providers to access your records.
